Public comment period extended for draft tiered EA on the Hess Hawkeye Pipeline system maintenance project at Lake Sakakawea, North Dakota
The public comment period for the draft environmental assessment (EA) to perform maintenance activities on the existing Hawkeye Pipeline System within Federal lands (Lake Sakakawea) in McKenzie and Williams counties in North Dakota has been extended to May 12, 2019. This EA tiers from one completed in 2015 by the Bureau of Land Management which evaluated the environmental effects of repurposing the existing pipelines within Lake Sakakawea.

Corps seeks public comment on draft environmental assessment, Bakken Missouri River crossing natural gas pipeline project
A draft environmental assessment (EA) for the proposed construction of a natural gas pipeline approximately 20 miles south east of Williston, North Dakota is currently available for public review. Hiland Partners Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan Inc., is proposing to construct a 10.6-mile, 20-inch diameter natural gas gathering pipeline traversing Lake Sakakawea to connect existing infrastructure. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than May 12, 2019.

Draft supplemental environmental assessment for restoration of emergent sandbar habitat complexes in the Missouri River, Nebraska and South Dakota available for public review
A draft supplemental environmental assessment (SEA) on the restoration of emergent sandbar habitat (ESH) complexes in the Missouri River, Nebraska and South Dakota is currently available for public review. The draft SEA evaluates the environmental impacts of removing and preventing vegetation on ESH located within the Fort Randall reach, Lewis and Clark Lake segment, and Gavins Point reach of the Missouri River, South Dakota and Nebraska. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than May 8, 2019.

Public meeting scheduled on Emmons County, ND – City of Linton - Planning Assistance to States study
The Omaha District, in cooperation with the City of Linton, will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Linton Community Center, 101 1st Street NE, Linton, ND from 6 - 8:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to present results of the recently completed Emmons County Planning Assistance to States study conducted in partnership with the North Dakota State Water Commission and the Emmons County Water Resources Board.

Public input sought on Lake Oahe Shoreline Management Plan
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is in the process of revising the Lake Oahe (South Dakota) Shoreline Management Plan (SMP), which was last updated in 1977. An open house style meeting will be held to answer questions and seek public input.

Draft EA for Missouri River and Upper Pony Creek levee repairs in Iowa available for public comment
A draft environmental assessment for levee repairs along the left–descending bank of the Missouri River and at one levee station along Upper Pony Creek in Mills and Pottawattamie counties, Iowa is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of repairing damage to the levees caused by multiple heavy rainfall events in the summer and fall of 2018. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than February 18, 2019.

Draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment, Middle Decatur Bend Operation and Maintenance Repairs, available for public comment
A draft supplemental environmental assessment (EA) for operation and maintenance repairs at Middle Decatur Bend is currently available for public review. The draft supplemental EA evaluates the environmental impacts of repairing a water control structure (WCS10) that was damaged during high water in 2018. WCS10 is located along Missouri River Mile 687.25 in Monona County, Iowa and maintains the lake elevations for Decatur Bend Lake located immediately upstream of the structure. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than January 28, 2019.
