District seeks public comment on Draft Environmental Assessment for new water transmission main in McKenzie County, North Dakota
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is seeking public comment to evaluate the impacts of the proposed McKenzie County Water Resource District Phase II Transmission Main Project, located within and adjacent to the Missouri River and Lake Sakakawea in McKenzie and Williams Counties, North Dakota.

Snake Creek Dam Safety Modification Study draft Environmental Assessment available for public comment
A draft Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared for the Snake Creek Dam Safety Modification Study (DSMS). Conducted in accordance with Section 149 of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) 2020, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District has reevaluated recent interim risk reduction measures (IRRMs) implemented in the 2019 update to the Lake Audubon Water Control Manual (WCM). One operational alternative and two structural and operational combination alternatives were assessed in addition to the No Action Alternative.

Public meeting scheduled for Watertown Flood Risk Management Feasibility Study
OMAHA, Neb. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District in cooperation with the city of Watertown, South Dakota, will hold a public meeting on Tues., Jan. 31, 2023, at 1901 Ninth Ave. SW in Watertown. The purpose of the meeting is to share information on the recently initiated flood risk management feasibility study. The study location includes the Big Sioux River and its tributaries within the vicinity of the Watertown community.

Public meeting scheduled for Little Goose Creek general investigations study
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the city of Sheridan, Wyoming, will hold a public meeting on Wed., Jan. 11, 2023, at 612 North Main Street in Sheridan. The purpose of the meeting is to share information on the recently initiated general investigations feasibility study. The study location is within downtown Sheridan within the concrete lined portion of the Little Goose Creek channel (approximately 1,700 linear feet of the channel).

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Issues Section 404 Permit Authorizing Fill Discharge Associated with Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District’s Northern Integrated Supply Project
Today, the US Army Corps of Engineers signed a record of decision for the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District’s request to discharge fill material into 33.6 acres of waters of the United States. The fill discharge will facilitate construction activities associated with their Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP).

Public comments sought for draft PEA for repairs to side channel chutes, backwaters damaged in 2019 floods
Public comments are being sought on a draft programmatic environmental assessment has been prepared to evaluate and document the potential impacts of a suite of proposed repair activities that would occur within previously constructed Missouri River Recovery Program side channel chutes and backwaters in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri that were damaged by the 2019 flood event on the Missouri River. The proposed repairs are needed to repair flood damages to MRRP constructed chutes to reduce the possibility of adversely affecting other authorized purposes, or adjacent lands, and to restore beneficial habitat conditions in the chutes that were impacted by the flood.

Virtual public meeting scheduled for flood risk management study in Fremont.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in cooperation with the Lower Platte North Natural Resources District and the city of Fremont, will hold a virtual public meeting Jan. 13, from 7-9 p.m. via Zoom meeting ID 95037694771 to discuss results of the flood risk management study outlined in the recently released draft feasibility report.
