Virtual public meetings scheduled for Dakota Access Pipeline Environmental Impact Statement
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District will host a virtual public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15 and another on Friday Oct. 16 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time), to gather input on developing a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate granting an easement to Dakota Access, LLC to cross Corps-administered federal land at the Oahe Dam and Reservoir Project on the Missouri River.

Army Corps of Engineers seeks public comments on proposal to renew and revise nationwide permits
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today it is seeking comments on its proposal to renew and revise 52 nationwide permits for work in wetlands and other waters that are regulated by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899. In addition, USACE is proposing to issue five new nationwide permits that pertain to authorizing seaweed mariculture activities, finfish mariculture activities, electric utility line and telecommunications activities, utility line activities for water and other substances, and water reclamation and reuse facilities.

Corps awards contract to complete levee repairs on multiple levee systems in, Sheridan County, Wyoming
OMAHA, Neb. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District awarded a $3.55M construction contract to Relyant Global LLC of Maryville, Tennessee on July 24, for the rehabilitation of Little Goose Creek Left Bank,Big Goose Creek Right Bank and Goose Creek Right Bank Levee Systems damaged by the spring 2019 flooding. The duration of the contract is 150 days after the notice to proceed.

Corps seeks public comment on draft environmental assessment for Missouri River pipeline replacement project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public comment on a draft environmental assessment for the proposed replacement of a section of liquid natural gas pipeline located beneath the Missouri River in Cass County, Nebraska, and a federal levee near Thurman, Iowa. This pipeline system is critical to supplying propane to Midwest markets during the winter, as well as to motor fuel production in the upper Midwest. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than July 26, 2020.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, invites the public to provide input and make comments for the upcoming master plan revision of the Papillion Creek and Tributaries Lakes project - better known as the Papio Lakes. This project consists of: Glenn Cunningham Lake, Standing Bear Lake, Wehrspann Lake, and Zorinsky Lake, all located in the Omaha metropolitan area.

Draft environmental assessment for surplus water use at Lake Sakakawea, ND available for public comment
A draft environmental assessment for a surplus water request at Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the use of surplus water and the environmental impacts of constructing an industrial water intake to allow 1,000 acre-feet (maximum withdrawal rate of 2,100 gallons per minute) to be used by White Horse Water, LLC for oil and gas development. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than June 26, 2020.
