OMAHA, Neb. -- OMAHA, Neb - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is in the process of revising the Lake Oahe (South Dakota) Shoreline Management Plan (SMP), which was last updated in 1977. An SMP is a document that provides guidance and authority on administering the Corps of Engineers Shoreline Management Program, allowing for development or non-development of certain areas of shoreline. Private dock areas, vegetative management, and the permitting thereof are part of what is covered in the SMP. Public input is requested, and we invite you to come meet with representatives from the USACE-Omaha Project and District Office, and South Dakota Game Fish and Parks to review the progress we have made to this point. An open house style meeting will be held to answer questions and seek public input. Maps and the draft SMP will be available to view. There will be four regional meetings:

All meetings will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m at the locations listed. The draft SMP will also be available on the Lake Oahe webpage at https://www.nwo.usace.army.mil/Missions/Dam-and-Lake-Projects/Missouri-River-Dams/Oahe/.
