The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking comments on the draft revision of the Big Bend Dam and Lake Sharpe Project’s Master Plan and its associated Environmental Assessment through Feb. 15, 2019, in conjunction with a public scoping meeting Jan. 24.
The Master Plan is the basic document guiding Corps responsibilities pursuant to federal laws to preserve, conserve, restore, maintain, manage and develop the project’s lands, waters and associated resources. It includes a description of project resources, a discussion of factors influencing resource management and development, and a strategy for managing project resources to meet the needs of the public and wildlife.
The scoping meeting will take place at the Big Bend Project Office from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at 33573 N Shore Road, Fort Thompson, South Dakota 57325.
