  • Timber stand improvements being made to Lake Yankton Island.

    A timber stand improvement project has started on 82 acres of the Lake Yankton Island below Gavins Point Dam, near Yankton, South Dakota and is expected to be completed by November 30. Those dates may change due to weather and other factors. Visitors should not go beyond posted closures and hunters encouraged not to leave tree stands in area.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed August 20-23

    Crest Road, the road on Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota, will be closed from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23 to perform maintenance on intake gates and embankment maintenance. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed August 13-16.

    Crest Road, the road on Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota, will be closed from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, through Thursday, Aug. 16, to perform maintenance on intake gates. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Spillway parking area to be closed

    The parking area next to the Gavins Point Spillway, near Yankton, SD, will be closed from approximately 5 a.m. through noon on Tuesday, August 7, to allow contractors to conduct parking lot maintenance.
  • Public comments open for Burma Road expansion on Fort McCoy

    The Environmental Division of the Directorate of Public Works at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin has prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) to aid in the decision-making process and inform the public of likely environmental consequences associated with the Burma Road Rehabilitation Project located on Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
  • NISP public comment period extended

    The public comment period for the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP) is extended to October 4, 2018.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed additional day

    Crest Road, the road on Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, SD will now be closed from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 to perform maintenance on the spillway. Originally the work was scheduled to be completed by the 26th, but an additional day will be needed. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Corps extends public comment period for Snake Creek Embankment Interim Risk Reduction Measures Draft Environmental Assessment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District announced that it will extend the public comment period for the Snake Creek Interim Risk Reduction Measures Draft Environmental Assessment to August 20, 2018.
  • Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Northern Integrated Supply Project available for public review

    The Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP) is now available for public review. The project, coordinated by the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, seeks to provide approximately 40,000 acre-feet each year from a new municipal water supply. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is neither a proponent nor an opponent of the proposed project.
  • Draft EA for improvements to the 168th Street Corridor in Omaha, Nebraska available for public comment

    A draft environmental assessment for a proposed street widening and bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers land located at Zorinsky Lake in the city of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the impacts of widening a portion of the 168th Street corridor near Zorinsky Lake and rehabilitating the 168th Street Bridge over the lake. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than August 17, 2018.
