  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed August 14

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Monday, August 14 to perform maintenance on the spillway. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee agrees on future role

    The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) held its 38th meeting Aug. 8-10. Members learned about the public comments submitted on the draft Missouri River Recovery Management Plan-Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Adaptive Management (AM) Plan released by the Corps in December 2016.
  • Tribes work with MRRIC on committee’s future role

    The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) held its 38th meeting Aug. 8-10. MRRIC and the Tribal members welcomed Joni Tobacco, newly-appointed member of the Ogalala Sioux Tribe. Other Tribes were represented by Dr. Andrea Hunter, Osage Nation; Dr. Kelly Morgan, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe; Alan Kelley, Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska; Deb Madison, Fort Peck and Assiniboine and Sioux Tribe; Shannon Wright, Ponca Tribe of Nebraska; and Randy Teboe, Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.
  • Hunters reminded of tree stand requirements at the Gavins Point Project

    Hunters are reminded of tree stand requirements on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lands at Gavins Point Project. These lands are located in Yankton County, South Dakota; Clay County, South Dakota; Knox County, Nebraska; and Cedar County, Nebraska.
  • Information meeting scheduled to discuss boating restrictions change to Lake Yankton

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Gavins Point Project will be holding an information meeting on Wednesday, August 16 to discuss a proposal to change boating restrictions on Lake Yankton from electric motor only to no wake. The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, 55424 Highway 121, Crofton, NE.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will not conduct tours at the Gavins Point Powerplant near Yankton, SD from Friday, August 18 through Friday, September 1, 2017.
  • Notice of structure assessments for flood risk management study in Miles City, Montana

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District will be conducting structure assessments in and around Miles City, Montana from August 14 – 18, 2017 as part of a collaborative flood risk management study with the city.

    The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) will hold its 38th meeting here Aug. 8-10, 2017. The meeting will be at the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown, 1616 Dodge St., Omaha, NE 68102, beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, and concluding at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10.
