Published Aug. 3, 2018

OMAHA, Neb. — The public comment period for the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP) is extended to October 4, 2018.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Omaha District, is announcing the extension of the comment period for the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and the Draft Conformity Determination for the Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP).  In accordance with 40 C.F.R. 1506.6, the Corps published a Notice of Availability for the NISP Final EIS in the Federal Register on July 20, 2018.  In addition, the Corps posted a matching Public Notice on the Omaha District Regulatory web site.  The Federal Register Notice and the Public Notice identified the length of the public comment period as 45 days, concluding on September 4, 2018.

Since the publication of the Notice of Availability and the Public Notice, the Corps has received a number of requests from the public to extend the comment period.  After reviewing these requests, the Corps has determined that an additional 30 days is warranted.  The extended comment period will close on October 4, 2018.

The NISP Final EIS is available for review on our website at:  http://www.nwo.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory-Program/Colorado/EIS-NISP
