  • Senior leaders meet, discuss VA hospital construction progress

    A senior level progress review for the Replacement Medical Center for the Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System in Aurora, Colorado, was held February 11. The Senior Executive Review Group consists of senior leaders from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Kiewit-Turner joint venture, who meet regularly to collaboratively resolve overarching issues and maintain a focus on the project’s budget and schedule.
  • Regulatory 101 workshop offered in Bismarck

    A Regulatory 101 Workshop providing information on how to navigate through Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act will be offered from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 16, 2016 at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library.
  • Cherry Creek Dam water control plan modification study public meeting scheduled

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, January 26, from 6-8 p.m. to gather input on modifying the Cherry Creek Dam Water Control Plan to release more water from the dam during extreme flooding events in order to reduce the risk of the dam overtopping and failing. Comments must be postmarked or received by February 26, 2016.
  • New day and time added to Bald Eagle Days

    Bald Eagle Days at Lewis and Clark Visitor Center will run an additional day. This free event begins on Friday, January 29 and runs through Sunday, January 31st at 4:30 p.m.
  • Denver urban waterways feasibility study public meetings scheduled

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the city and county of Denver, will hold three public meetings to gather input on the Denver Urban Waterways Feasibility Study. The purpose of the study is to identify ecosystem restoration and flood risk reduction opportunities along critical areas of the South Platte River from 6th Avenue to 58th Avenue and flood-prone areas of Harvard Gulch and Weir Gulch. Comments must be received on or before February 19, 2016.
  • Public scoping meeting scheduled for Intake Diversion Dam fish passage project in Montana

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation will hold a public meeting on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Dawson County High School Auditorium, 900 N. Merrill Avenue, Glendive, Mont. to gather input on the development of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Intake Diversion Dam fish passage project. Comments must be postmarked or received by February 18, 2016.
  • Technical assistance training available to the public for Atlas D Missile Site 4

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, will conduct four training sessions through the Technical Assistance for Public Participation program for the public and Restoration Advisory Board regarding Atlas D Missile Site 4.
  • Public comment sought on proposed stormwater drainage channel improvements at Schriever AFB in El Paso Co., CO

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Omaha District, on behalf of the U.S. Air Force, has prepared a draft environmental assessment to evaluate environmental impacts of a proposed project to improve two stormwater drainage channels and their associated culverts on the southern perimeter of Schriever Air Force Base near Colorado Springs, Colo. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than February 3, 2016.
