  • Fort Peck announces winter access for motorized vehicles

    Recreationists accessing Fort Peck Lake, Montana, and the Dredge Cuts this winter are reminded that motorized vehicles are only permitted on developed access routes, such as public roads, numbered roads, boat ramps or designated ice access routes within U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Recreation Areas.
  • Access limited to Fort Peck spillway

    The Fort Peck, Montana, spillway can be accessed by boat from the Missouri River or by foot from the west side of the spillway (Missouri River upstream side). Due to erosion of CMR Road #361, the US Army Corps of Engineers has designated a parking area where the public can then walk into the spillway from the west. 
  • New Fort Peck ice access site opens

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is pleased to announce a new Fort Peck, Montana, ice access site at the Pines Recreation Area.

  • Fort Peck Interpretive Center and Campgrounds open

    The Fort Peck Interpretive Center is now open daily from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. Educational activities will begin Memorial Day weekend and continue each weekend through Labor Day.
  • Fort Peck Spillway Access limited until further notice

    To ensure public safety around the Fort Peck spillway structure, access to certain areas of the spillway will be closed or will remain closed until further notice.
  • Winter Access to Fort Peck Lake limited

    Reminder that motorized vehicle use is only permitted on public roads, numbered roads, boat ramps, or designated ice access routes with USACE recreation areas.
  • Vegetation control set for invasive species located at Fort Peck Reservoir, Montana

    Beginning the week of September 18, 2017, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) will conduct vegetation management activities on the Seven Blackfoot, Billy, Wilson, McCarty, Sheep, Short, Cart Trail and Doney drainages located at the Fort Peck Reservoir in Garfield and Phillips Counties, Montana. These areas will be closed to the public during spraying activities and 72 hours after application.

    Beginning the week of July 31, 2017, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) will conduct vegetation management activities on the Seven Blackfoot, Billy, Wilson, McCarty, Sheep, Short, Cart Trail and Doney drainages located at the Fort Peck Reservoir in Garfield and Phillips Counties.
  • New Operations Project Manager at Fort Peck

    Darin McMurry has been selected as the new Operations Project Manager (OPM) for the Fort Peck Dam Project in Fort Peck, Montana. McMurry will replace John Daggett who retires June 3. Fort Peck Dam, located on the Missouri River in Montana, is the upper most dam of the six main stem dams the Corps operates. Responsibilities for the OPM include Emergency Operations within the project boundary, which takes in most of Montana and northern Wyoming; contracting work assigned to the office; environmental compliance; inter-agency coordination and public relations within the project area.
