  • Virtual public meeting scheduled to discuss recently released Papillion Creek Basin draft final feasibility report

    OMAHA, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District, will hold a virtual public meeting Feb. 10 to present the results of the draft final feasibility report for the Papillion Creek general reevaluation study. The purpose of the study is to develop alternatives to reduce flood risks and improve public safety within the Papillion Creek Basin in Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties.
  • Winter won't stop work on L-536 levee repairs

    Despite winter conditions, work continues on the L-536 levee setback south of Rock Port, Missouri. Repairs to the original in-line portion of the levee are scheduled to be substantially complete within the next month. Construction of the levee setback portion of the project continues despite the freezing temperatures.
  • Public comments sought for Lake Sakakawea (ND) Shoreline Management Plan

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is seeking public comment as part of the update of the Lake Sakakawea Shoreline Management Plan (SMP). This update is part of a routine five-year review of the SMP. In general, the SMP provide guidance on how USACE will administer the Shoreline Management program at Lake Sakakawea near Riverdale, North Dakota.
  • Virtual public meeting scheduled for flood risk management study in Fremont.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in cooperation with the Lower Platte North Natural Resources District and the city of Fremont, will hold a virtual public meeting Jan. 13, from 7-9 p.m. via Zoom meeting ID 95037694771 to discuss results of the flood risk management study outlined in the recently released draft feasibility report.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District will host a virtual public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15 and another on Friday Oct. 16 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time), to gather input on developing a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate granting an easement to Dakota Access, LLC to cross Corps-administered federal land at the Oahe Dam and Reservoir Project on the Missouri River.
  • Army Corps of Engineers seeks public comments on proposal to renew and revise nationwide permits

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today it is seeking comments on its proposal to renew and revise 52 nationwide permits for work in wetlands and other waters that are regulated by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899. In addition, USACE is proposing to issue five new nationwide permits that pertain to authorizing seaweed mariculture activities, finfish mariculture activities, electric utility line and telecommunications activities, utility line activities for water and other substances, and water reclamation and reuse facilities.
