  • Raptor programs still on, but eagle a no show for Bald Eagle Days.

    For the second year there will be no eagle at Bald Eagle Days at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Yankton, SD. Programs scheduled for Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 19 will go on with other birds of prey.

  • Flood risk management open house meeting scheduled in Longmont, Colorado

    An open house to share details about a flood risk management study between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District and the City of Longmont will be held from 4:30-6:30 pm Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road in Longmont, Colorado.
  • Corps closes federal property adjacent to Cannonball River for safety, environmental concerns

    The Corps issued notices today informing protestors of the closure of Corps-managed federal property adjacent to the Cannonball River. Safety is the number one priority for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and therefore the Corps will close federal property in the floodplain located at the mouth of the Cannonball River on February 22, 2017, to prevent injuries and significant environmental damage in the likely event of flooding in this area.
  • Public Comment Period Extended for draft MRRMP-EIS

    The Corps has extended the public comment period for the draft Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement to April 24, 2017.
  • Public Meeting for draft MRRMP-EIS scheduled in Omaha, Neb., Feb. 14

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City and Omaha Districts, will hold a public meeting on the draft Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Thompson Alumni Center, 6705 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68182, from 5-8:45 p.m. Parking is available in Lot X near the center; passes are required in adjacent lots.
  • Public scoping meeting scheduled for Big Bend Master Plan

    The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public scoping meeting on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Big Bend Project Office, 33573 N Shore Road, Fort Thompson, South Dakota 57325 to gather input on the development of the Big Bend Master plan and the associated Environmental Assessment. Comments must be postmarked or received by March 13, 2017.

    Bald Eagle Days, a free public event sponsored by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Yankton, SD, has been rescheduled to Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 19.
  • Additional gages to provide water level data

    Two rapid-deployable, mobile stream-gages will provide short-term water level data in critical areas along the Cannon Ball River, south of Bismarck, North Dakota.
