  • Public comment extension notification for Draft EA, Snake Creek Dam Safety Modification Study, McLean County, North Dakota

    OMAHA, Neb. – The comment review period for the Snake Creek Dam Safety Modification Study, Draft Environmental Assessment is being extended until May 18, 2023.   • Snake Creek Dam Safety Modification Study draft Environmental Assessment available for public comment

    A draft Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared for the Snake Creek Dam Safety Modification Study (DSMS). Conducted in accordance with Section 149 of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) 2020, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District has reevaluated recent interim risk reduction measures (IRRMs) implemented in the 2019 update to the Lake Audubon Water Control Manual (WCM). One operational alternative and two structural and operational combination alternatives were assessed in addition to the No Action Alternative.
  • Public information meeting scheduled for Snake Creek Dam Safety Modification Study

    The USACE, Omaha District will host a meeting on Feb. 16, 2023, to inform the public on its findings of the 2022 Snake Creek Dam Modification Study and the preferred alternative. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input. The meeting will be held on from 5:30-7:00 pm (CST) at the Snake Creek Pumping Plant, 1401 Highway 83 NW Coleharbor, N.D. 58531.
  • Northbound lanes of U.S. 83 to close starting April 27

    The northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 83 at the Snake Creek embankment at the Lake Audubon pump station will close starting April 27, 2017, and reopen by the end of May 2017.
