OMAHA, Neb. - The northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 83 at the Snake Creek embankment at the Lake Audubon pump station will close starting April 27, 2017, and reopen by the end of May 2017.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will perform maintenance on the gate well system that moves water between Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon. During this time, there will be one lane of traffic in each direction, and speed limits will be reduced.
The Corps plans to remove temporary steel plating which was put in place over the existing gate well covers and to install new covers and frames.
