2021 Online reservations now available for Lake Sakakawea, Lake Audubon campgrounds: Downstream, East Totten Trail, Wolf Creek

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announces that the Downstream, East Totten Trail, and Wolf Creek campgrounds on Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon in North Dakota are scheduled to open May 14, and that online reservations are now being accepted.

Corps of Engineers, Garrison Project announces winter access policy, entry points

RIVERDALE, N.D. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Garrison Project announces their 2020-2021 winter access policy. This year there will be 113 entry points to Lake Sakakawea and 20 entry points to Lake Audubon. These entry points are a combination of boat ramps, shoreline access sites and freeways which are in limited development areas. A couple of these points are foot traffic only due to terrain.

Two public meetings to discuss interim measures to reduce dam safety risks at the Snake Creek embankment, which runs under Highway 83 and impounds Lake Audubon in North Dakota, are scheduled for Tuesday, June 27 in Garrison, ND and Wednesday, June 28 in Bismarck, ND.

Northbound lanes of U.S. 83 to close starting April 27

The northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 83 at the Snake Creek embankment at the Lake Audubon pump station will close starting April 27, 2017, and reopen by the end of May 2017.
