  • Jamestown Dam releases to improve downstream ice conditions

    Jamestown Dam will begin making small releases to improve ice conditions downstream of the dam. Small, measured release increases began Wednesday, March 29 and will continue through early next week.

    OMAHA, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announced it will begin a multi-year project this fall to rebuild the spillway at Pipestem Dam near Jamestown in Stutsman County, North Dakota. Construction of a modified spillway and new additional features in the spillway area will reduce the likelihood of erosion should the spillway experience significant flow from the Pipestem Reservoir.

    OMAHA, Neb – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announced that maximum combined releases are not expected to exceed 200 cubic feet per second this year. Significant rainfall could necessitate higher release levels.

    Reservoir releases from Jamestown Dam (North Dakota) are being increased to 350 cubic feet per second.
