Public comment sought for City of Omaha's F Street Reconstruction Project

OMAHA, Neb. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is soliciting comments from the public regarding the City of Omaha, F Street Reconstruction. In compliance with USC Title 33, Chapter 9, Subchapter 1, Section 408, the City of Omaha Public Works (Requester) has requested permission from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for an alteration at the Zorinsky Lake Project (Papillion Creek and Tributaries Lakes, Site 18) (Federal Project).

The proposed F Street Reconstruction is located in the City of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, on F Street from 156th Street to 148th Street. The City’s F Street right-of-way is located on USACE property from 156th Street (the bottom of the Zorinsky Lake spillway) to just before 152nd Plaza (approximate coordinates: 41.219439, -96.153650). The Requester’s proposed project is comprised of the following elements: Reconstruction of F Street from a two-lane rural roadway to a two-lane urban roadway with a storm sewer system and sidewalk. The roadway will be graded to lower the profile between 152nd Plaza and 150th Plaza. The project will include paving, grading, storm sewer, and sidewalk construction. The purpose of the proposed action is roadway improvements. Only project elements that would alter the Federal Project are within the scope of review for the Section 408 permission to request.
