Bald Eagle Days begins January 27

More than 998 people from all around attended the annual Bald Eagle Days at Lewis and Clark Visitor Center. This event which took place January 29 through January 31, included 10 live raptor shows given by Saving Our Avian Resources (SOAR), from Dedham, IA. One of the five live raptors is being admired.

Bald Eagle Days, a free public event sponsored by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Gavins Point will once again take place on Friday, January 27 through Sunday, January 29.
Take this opportunity to see and enjoy beautiful bald eagles perching in nearby trees. There will also be hands –on activities to participate in, along with watching programs with live raptors, including a Bald Eagle, presented by SOAR Raptors of Dedham, Iowa.
The weekend will be filled with special displays, handouts and activities for the kids.

HOURS:
Friday, January 27th: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, January 28th and Sunday, January 29th: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

SOAR programs:
Friday: 4 and 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 and 11 a.m. & 1 and 3 p.m.
Sunday: 9 and 11 a.m. & 1 and 3 p.m.
• Programs are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Seating is not guaranteed and reservations are not accepted.
Please arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour early as programs fill up fast.

THERE IS NO COST TO ATTEND THIS EVENT AND THE VISITOR CENTER IS HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE
