Description: The Ponca State Park site is located within the 59-mile segment of the Missouri National Recreational River (MNRR). Specifically, restoration is provided for a 295-acre area on the Missouri River right bank between river miles 753.8 and 755.3 that extends approximately 8,000 feet in length and curves inland in a wide arc approximately 2,300 feet from the river bank at its widest point.
- The USACE acquired an easement with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to construct and maintain the backwaters.
- Water levels and discharges in the backwater fluctuate in direct relation tot he water levels in the main channel and are accessible by recreational craft.
Status: Open to the public. Construction complete. Site/Habitat is in operations and maintenance status.
Site Use: The site is open to the public for a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, bird watching, hiking, and hunting when in season.

- People visiting these areas must comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including hunting, fishing, etc. In general Title 36 Part 327 of the Code of Federal Regulations governs the use of Corps property. Other regulations may apply to properties owned by other federal agencies.
