On-Site Management:  Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) administers and/or performs operation and maintenance activities on behalf of the Corps according to the terms of various agreements.

Description, Use and Regulations

Description:  The Grand Pass site is comprised of two easements along the Missouri River.

  • In 1991, the Corps worked with Missouri Department of Conservation to reopen a chute connecting river flows and creating aquatic habitat diversity. In 2004, these efforts continued with modifications to river structures along banks of the Grand Pass Conservation Area which further improved shallow water habitat and riverine diversity.

Status:  Open to the public.  Site is in operations and maintenance status.

Site Use:  Part of the Grand Pass Conservation Area and is open to a wide variety of outdoor recreation activities, such as hiking, bird watching, fishing and hunting (under special regulations).

Site-use Regulations:  

  • People visiting these areas must comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including hunting, fishing, etc.  In general Title 36 Part 327 of the Code of Federal Regulations governs the use of Corps property.  Other regulations may apply to properties owned by other federal agencies.
  • Special regulations and restrictions may be posted on site.
