    Great States Constructions, Inc. is proposing to permanently discharge fill material into 3.03- acres of wetlands in order to construct a storm water management pond, paved area, and a building associated with the Sioux Falls Distribution Center. Based on the available information, the overall project purpose is to provide a development for general distribution and light manufacturing in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The applicant’s project purpose, as stated in the application, is to establish a distribution center for general distribution and light manufacturing. The site is located southwest of the intersection of Marion Road and Interstate Highway 90, just outside the northwestern city limits of Sioux Falls and is comprised primarily of cultivated agricultural land. There are approximately 3.79 acres of wetlands within the project area.

  • Lower Brule North Ecosystem Restoration Draft Feasibility Report and Integrated Environmental Assessment

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is seeking public comments on the Lower Brule North Ecosystem Restoration Draft Feasibility Report and Environmental Assessment, until August 31, 2022. The purpose of this study is to evaluate alternatives for shoreline protection to reduce the continued loss of land which is threatening natural resources near the town of Lower Brule.

    The District Engineer has received a prospectus from the Sponsor titled, “Grant County ILF Project – Prospectus”, hereon referred to as the Prospectus. The Corps is soliciting comments on the Prospectus. The Prospectus described herein is not being proposed by the Corps, but by the Sponsor. The Corps will evaluate the Prospectus according to the requirements of the Mitigation Rule (33 CFR 332) to determine if the Prospectus has the potential to produce compensatory mitigation suitable to offset unavoidable impacts to waters of the United States authorized through the issuance of Department of the Army (DA) permits pursuant to section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. 1344) and/or sections 9 or 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. 401, 403).
