    Expiration date: 6/27/2023

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District (Corps), is evaluating a permit application submitted by Steven Banovetz of Ryan Companies to construct a new commercial/retail development by placing engineered fill material in a 2.75-acre area of an unnamed tributary and abutting wetlands to the Big Sioux River. The original permit for this project was issued to the City of Brookings in August of 2019 and expired in July of 2022. The project was never constructed, and a new owner acquired the property for a similar commercial/retail development with the same aquatic resource impact of 2.75 acres. A new application has been submitted by the current owner for review.
