Gavins Point Dam announces 2016 powerplant tour schedule

YANKTON, SD - Public tours of the powerplant at Gavins Point Dam are set to begin June 10.

Tours will not be available over Memorial Day weekend.

Starting June 10, tours will be offered Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays at 9, 10 & 11 a.m. and 1, 2, 3 & 4 p.m.

Due to increased security, visitors for powerhouse tours should arrive 15 minutes prior to the tour and visitors over 18 years old must show a government issued photo ID.

School and civic groups can make appointments for group tours by calling the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center at 402-667-2546.
