YANKTON, S.D. – Maintenance on the street lights across Gavins Point Dam will cause partial closure of the Crest Road, but will only have limited impact on traffic. The road will be closed from Monday, April 13 at 8 a.m. through Friday, April 17 at 5 p.m. This closure will include overnight hours.

The Crest Road, which crosses Gavins Point Dam, will be closed from South Dakota Highway 52 to Ramp Road just north of the spillway. The spillway itself will not be closed.

Traffic will be able to travel from South Dakota into Nebraska via Toe Road, the road below Gavins Point Dam, to Ramp Road. For traffic coming from Nebraska, Toe Road is accessible by traveling north across the spillway to Ramp Road.

There will be periodic closures until late fall for construction. People can stay informed about upcoming road closures by checking our web site, www.nwo.usace.army.mil/gavinspoint or by calling (402) 667-2546.
