Riverdale, N.D. - The Garrison Dam West Tailrace Road, which provides access to the Garrison Power Plant wing walls and west side of the tailrace area, will be closed May 20 through the fall of 2013.
The closure is necessary to conduct a road reconstruction project consisting of milling, replacement of asphalt pavement, culverts, storm drains and guardrails.
During this time, access to the East Tailrace and Missouri River Boat Ramp will remain open. Following completion of construction, the West Tailrace Road will be reopened.
This work is required to repair damages incurred during the 2011 Flood event and will provide improved, safer access for the recreating public once the work is completed.
