Spillway flow test at Gavins Point Dam postponed due to inclement weather

In early February 2013, crews completed assessments and began repairs at Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., following 2011 flooding.

YANKTON, S.D. -  The spillway flow test which was scheduled for April 10 at Gavins Point Dam has been postponed due to inclement weather. The new test date is Tuesday April 16. The purpose of the test is to gain additional information on the current condition of the spillway after interim repairs have been made. The test is being conducted as part of the ongoing rehabilitation and repair of the damage from the Missouri River Flood of 2011.
