PHILIPSBURG, Mont. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is seeking public comment for a Draft Environmental Assessment regarding wastewater treatment improvements for facilities in the town of Philipsburg, Montana.
The project will improve the quality of wastewater discharge into Flint Creek to fulfill the requirements of an Administrative Order on Consent originating from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality.
USACE funding for this project is authorized under Section 595 of the 1999 Water Resources Development Act, as amended. This authority allows USACE to participate in projects for wastewater treatment, water supply, and related facilities in Montana. Design and construction assistance is provided only for projects that are owned by public entities and project costs are shared via 75% federal contribution and 25% non-federal contribution.
