Garrison Dam power plant opening for tours in May

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announces the availability of group tours for schools and energy industry groups beginning early May 2022.

School Power Plant tours will be available to the public May 17 to June 1, with reservations open now. Ticket reservations for Energy Group and Hydroelectric Power Plant tours will be available to the public May 25, with the first tour beginning June 2.

Please be advised that tour participants will be entering a secure facility and that the following rules and guidelines apply:

 

A state or federal issued identification card is required prior to entry for individuals over 18 years old.

Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

No bags, cases, parcels, cameras, cell phones, purses, backpacks, diaper bags, food, drink, or pets are allowed to enter the facility.

All individuals will be asked to sign in the logbook.

 

To ensure tour participants’ safety:

 

Visitors must wear closed toe shoes to attend tours.

Visitors must wear safety equipment supplied by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Safety equipment may include, but is not limited to, safety glasses, goggles, and hardhats.
