DENVER, Co. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to announce that no releases will be made from Bear Creek Dam during a one to two day period in early-January while the outlet works facility is prepared for conduit lining work.
Low-level pipe corrosion was discovered in November 2015 during valve replacement work. Conduit lining will be added to the low-level pipe during the month of January. Releases will be made as usual following the one to two day period in early-January.
The Corps has coordinated the conduit lining work with the State of Colorado and the City of Lakewood.
