Published Dec. 21, 2018

The City of Omaha, in conjunction with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District, will hold a scoping open house to seek public input on potential recreational features at Glenn Cunningham Lake Jan. 8, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Camelot Community Center, 9270 Cady Ave.

Public input forms may be submitted during the meeting, mailed to the contacts listed below or online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CunninghamLake. Public input will be accepted through Feb. 7. The input received will be utilized by the Omaha Parks and Recreation and the Corps of Engineers to develop plans for potential future improvements.

Updates on current efforts at Cunningham Lake, including the lake drawdown, treatment for invasive species, fishery rehabilitation and maintenance will also be discussed at the meeting.

The City of Omaha leases and manages the Glenn Cunningham Lake property, a federally-owned flood control project on the Papillion Creek. In Nov. 2018, the City of Omaha initiated a study to evaluate potential new recreational features at Glenn Cunningham Lake.
