The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of levee repairs along the right–descending bank of Big Goose Creek in Sheridan, Wyoming. Repairs would include constructing a 100-foot long piggyback levee, removing earthen material and rock from the channel, placing riverside rock rip-rap and geotextile filter and reseeding disturbed areas.

The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of repairing damage along a drainage ditch between L-550 and Rock Creek caused by high precipitation events. Repairs are needed to prevent seepage of levee foundation material from L-550 into the drainage ditch.

The purpose of the Proposed Action is to restore the project erosion protection features and remove unwanted vegetation at the levee bend and to raise the levee along Dry Creek to ensure flood damage protection in compliance with CFR 65.10 certification criteria in support of FEMA accreditation of the Greybull Levee. Furthermore, this would allow the town of Greybull to remain enrolled in the Public Law (PL) 84-99 Emergency Rehabilitation Program.
