The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is soliciting comments regarding the proposed Quick Current Broadband, Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, National Telecommunications and Information (NTIA) Decatur Project. USACE Omaha District has determined that the Quick Current Broadband Project would entail an alteration to the federal project, and therefore requires permission under Section 408. The project proposes construction of broadband cables underneath the Missouri River.

U.S. Corps of Engineers seek comments on Nemont Fiber Optic Telecommunications Cable Installation project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is soliciting comments regarding the proposed Nemont Fiber Optic Telecommunications Cable Installation project at Garrison Dam, Lake Sakakawea. USACE Omaha District has determined that the project would entail an alteration to the federal project, and therefore requires permission under Section 408.

Standing Bear dam drawing down pool for maintenance
The pool at Standing Bear Dam with be drawn down to an elevation of 1102.5 ft, which is 1.5ft below normal pool levels. The drawdown is occurring to facilitate construction around the reservoir pool which sustained damage during high water earlier this year. Construction will include repair work around the west and north boat ramps and north shoreline. Releases will be increased to 20 cfs for four days to accommodate the draw down then decreased to maintain the pool elevation at 1102.5 ft. The Corps of Engineers will continue to monitor conditions and adjust as needed based on runoff conditions. As of November 7, Standing Bear Reservoir was at an elevation 1103.7 ft.

Public comment sought for City of Omaha's F Street Reconstruction Project
OMAHA, Neb. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is soliciting comments from the public regarding the City of Omaha, F Street Reconstruction project. In compliance with USC Title 33, Chapter 9, Subchapter 1, Section 408, the City of Omaha Public Works (Requester) has requested permission from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for an alteration at the Zorinsky Lake Project (Papillion Creek and Tributaries Lakes, Site 18) (Federal Project).

USACE, USDA to hold public meeting for dairy research facility in Sauk City, Wisconsin
In partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture and University of Wisconsin-Madison, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District will be hosting a public meeting at the George Culver Community Library on May 1, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. regarding the construction of the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center’s new 360-cow research dairy facility in the local area.

Government Bay Boat Ramp at Garrison Dam Closed starting March 27th
The road leading to the Government Bay boat ramp at the junction with Missouri Drive in Riverdale, North Dakota will be temporarily closed beginning March 27 for boat ramp and bay maintenance scheduled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District.

USACE, Reclamation to co-host ribbon cutting ceremony for Lower Yellowstone diversion dam, fish passage project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will co-host an official ribbon cutting ceremony on July 26, at 11:00 a.m. on Joe’s Island near Glendive to celebrate the completion of the Lower Yellowstone Intake Diversion Dam Fish Passage Project. The celebration will also acknowledge Reclamation’s 120th anniversary.
