Summary: The Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) programmatically assesses the proposal of updating approximately 180 existing soil moisture and plains snowpack monitoring stations and installing approximately 360 new sites in the Upper Missouri River Basin (UMB) in Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana. Tiering from the May 2020 PEA & FONSI, the Supplemental EA & FONSI (September 2022) programmatically assesses the proposal of installing approximately seven additional new sites in the Upper Missouri River Basin, in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota.
Geographic Scope: Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Iowa and Minnesota.
