The Omaha District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received a mitigation bank prospectus pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344). The proposed Moraine Park Mitigation Bank would be a private wetland and stream mitigation bank which would allow the bank sponsor to develop and utilize wetland and stream credits within a defined service area. Wetland and stream credits would be created through the restoration (reestablishment), enhancement, and preservation of wetlands and the Big Thompson River. The wetland and stream mitigation credits could be used to offset compensatory mitigation requirements associated with unavoidable impacts to waters of the United States authorized by Department of the Army (DA) permit requirements. The purpose of this public notice is to solicit comments from the public regarding the work described.
