The District Engineer is evaluating an application from the City of Bismarck, North Dakota for the Ash Coulee Drive Roadway Improvement Project. The work includes widening the roadway between North Washington Street and East Valley Drive from 2 to 5 lanes and from East Valley Drive to Tyler Parkway from 2 to 3 lanes. Improvements include new concrete roadway, 6-10-foot boulevards, a 10-foot shared-use-path north of the roadway and sidewalk south of the roadway, a roundabout at the East Valley Drive intersection, lighting along the entire project length, water-main and storm-sewer improvements, new underground storm drains and drainage swales. The project would result in permanent impacts to 0.495 acre of jurisdictional waters, which would be offset through purchase of mitigation credits.
