Western Sand and Gravel Company (WS&G) is proposing to expand and continue to mine sand and gravel at Riverside sand and gravel mine. WS&G is proposing to mine the 235-acre site in seven phases over 34 years. Phase 1, the first five years of mining, would occur in the north portion of the parcel, closest to the existing Sand Creek Mine mining operations. Phase 2, years 6 through 10, would continue mining to the east and south of Phase 1. Phase 3, years 11 through 15, would extend west of Phase 2. Phase 4, years 16 through 20, would continue mining to the west and south of Phase 3. Phase 5, years 21 through 25, would extend east of Phase 4. Phase 6, years 26 through 30, would extend south of Phase 4, and Phase 7 will mine the remainder of the parcel area through years 31 through 34. Over 34 years and 7 phases of development, Riverside WS&G mine will impact a total of 7.356 acres of wetlands.
