The Omaha District Equal Employment Office, along with Mr. Askelon Parker, Senior Architect for USACE, Omaha District, participated in a “meet and greet”, with Mr. Hakan Armagan, (Fulbright Scholar, and M.S. in Nuclear Physics), and his 11th and 12th grade students in a STEM Honors Nuclear Science and Energy class, at Burke High School, located in Omaha, Nebraska. The visit was to raise awareness of USACE’s Mission, and to discuss the influence and duties Mr. Parker has as an Architect. Mr. Parker also shared his life story of how he decided to enter the STEM field, and the challenges he faced and conquered while pursuing his dream.
