On Sept. 13, 2024, a Change of Command ceremony was conducted in which Lt. Gen. William H. "Butch" Graham Jr. assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from Lt. Gen. Scott Spellmon. The event included a promotion ceremony for now-Lt. Gen. Graham and a retirement ceremony in honor of Lt. Gen. Spellmon. The ceremonies were hosted by U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy A. Flood Repairs along the Missouri River
Seven contracts were awarded in 2012 to repair damages at Big Bend Dam. They include repair of gates, upstream riprap, relief well outfalls, and rehabilitation of spillway concrete. The gate repair contractor is on-site and has begun repairs including replacing trunnion covers on gates at Big Bend.
