Cherry Creek Reservoir lies on Cherry Creek at its confluence with Cottonwood Creek, at the southeast edge of the Denver metropolitan area in Arapahoe County. Under normal conditions, the reservoir is 1.3 miles long, with an average depth of almost 15 feet, a surface area of 875 acres, and a storage capacity of 12,885 acre-feet of water. 2013 Colorado Flooding Response
The Denver Regulatory office is assisting with permit authorizations enabling rebuilding and recovery from flooding in parts of Colorado. Under Nationwide Permit #45 the Denver Regulatory Office is authorizing work to return river and stream flows into original channels and to restore uplands to reduce further flood-related impacts.
