Fort Randall trail dedication honors beloved employee

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District’s Fort Randall Project held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Sept. 20, 2024, in Pickstown, South Dakota for a newly constructed trail system. The trail system, named the Lisa M. Durham Memorial Trail, honors Lisa Durham, a longtime Fort Randall employee who passed away in 2022 following her battle with cancer.

OMAHA, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, has initiated three new Continuing Authorities Program pilot projects to support communities in South Dakota, Nebraska, and Colorado. These efforts are part of a national pilot program, announced last month by the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Civil Works, that will support and partner with 12 rural or economically disadvantaged communities across the United States.

WASHINGTON – Lt. Gen. William H. “Butch” Graham, Jr. today assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and became the Army’s 56th Chief of Engineers during a three-part ceremony at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall’s Conmy Hall. Graham assumed command from outgoing USACE commander Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon during the change of command ceremony hosted by Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Randy A. George.
