  • Gavins Point Dam Road Closed July 8 – 11

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 through 5 p.m. Friday, July 11. This closure will include nighttime hours. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Omaha District providing flood response support

    The States of South Dakota and Iowa have requested assistance from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, to provide technical assistance near Sioux City, Iowa and North Sioux City, S.D. following recent heavy rainfall.
  • Draft environmental assessment for Quale/Roggenbuck Sakakawea Water Access Project, N.D. available for public review

    A draft environmental assessment for the Quale/Roggenbuck Sakakawea Water Access Project, Montrail County, N.D., is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impact of granting a surplus water agreement to allow for withdrawal of 6,450 acre-feet of surplus water for industrial use and authorizing the conversion of an existing agricultural easement on private land adjacent to Lake Sakakawea into dual agricultural and industrial water use.
  • Gavins Point Dam Road Closed June 23-27

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed from 8 a.m. Monday, June 23 through 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 27. This closure will include nighttime hours. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Public meeting about formerly used defense site set for June 24

    The public meeting will be held at the Rand Community Center located at 100 South 4th Street, Missouri Valley, Iowa on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. At the meeting, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers representatives will provide information on the upcoming investigation and answer any questions the public may have about this work.
  • Draft Environmental Assessment for rehabilitation at Conestoga Reservoir, Neb. available for public review

    A draft environmental assessment for a proposed rehabilitation project at Conestoga Reservoir, Neb. is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of measures that would be used to restore aquatic habitat, water quality and recreation opportunities at the reservoir.
  • Weekend programs at Gavins Point Project

    Several program are scheduled for June 14 and 15 at the Gavins Point Project near Yankton, SD
  • Jamestown Reservoir flood storage nearly evacuated

    Jamestown Reservoir flood storage is nearly evacuated with the pool elevation approaching the summer target of 1431 feet. Releases are being adjusted out of Jamestown and Pipestem Reservoirs accordingly.
  • ASA Civil Works issues ROD, approves Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Project FR/EIS

    The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, Jo-Ellen Darcy, approved the Chatfield Reservoir, Colorado, Storage Reallocation Project in a Record of Decision sent to the Omaha District on May 29. The Omaha District released the final Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement (FR/EIS) in July 2013, regarding the request from the Colorado Department of Natural Resources to evaluate using Chatfield Reservoir as a solution for meeting future Front Range water needs while balancing the health of Colorado’s rivers and streams.
  • Lewis and Clark Visitor Center to change hours

    The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Yankton, S.D. will change its operating hours beginning Tuesday, June 3.
