The Omaha District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from the South Dakota Department of Transportation for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344). The project would affect waters of the United States associated with Big Sioux River. The project/review area is located near the interchange of Interstate 29/Interstate 229 and 85th Street (270th Street), in Sections 7, 8, 18, and 19, Township 100 North, Range 50 West; at Latitude 43.4754° North and Longitude -96.7966° West; in Sioux Falls, Lincoln County, South Dakota. The project purpose is a diverging diamond interchange construction near the junction of 85th Street/270th Street and Interstate 29, to include an overpass bridge, exit/entrance ramps, and a ramp bridge over I-229 to support anticipated growth in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
