Gavins Point USACE campgrounds opening Monday
Campgrounds operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Gavins Point Project will open Monday. This will include Cottonwood and Nebraska Tailwaters campgrounds.

Glenn Cunningham Reservoir to begin to fill naturally
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will shut the outflow gate at Glenn Cunningham Reservoir on June 1, to allow the lake to begin to refill naturally. It is anticipated that with typical weather conditions the lake will reach full conservation pool by early spring 2021.

Army Corps of Engineers begins gradual reopening of recreation areas closed due to Coronavirus
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Thursday that it has begun the gradual reopening of some USACE-managed recreation areas that were closed to protect against the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The health and safety of USACE personnel, contractors, volunteers and the visiting public remain our highest priority.

Corps awards contract to complete levee repairs on the Missouri River L-536 levee system north of Corning, Missouri
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, awarded a $8.74 million construction contract to AECOM Technical Services, Inc. of Los Angeles, California, Tuesday, to close the remaining breaches and making final repairs on the Missouri River L-536 levee system north of Corning, Missouri. The L-536 system is the last remaining Missouri River levee damaged by the March 2019 flood event in need of full repair.

Crest Road across Gavins Point spillway closed Tuesday May 19
The spillway and intake deck on the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota will be closed from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, May 19. This will prohibit through traffic on the road that crosses Gavins Point Dam, also known as the Crest Road.

USACE awards contract to complete levee repairs on the Pender – Logan Creek Right Bank Levee System in Pender, Nebraska.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, awarded a $7.1 million construction contract Wednesday to Michels Corporation of Brownsville, Wisconsin, to repair the Pender – Logan Creek Right Bank levee system in Pender, Nebraska. This is the 17th contract the Omaha District has awarded to repair the tributary systems damaged during the March 2019 flood. This contract will fully repair this damaged levee system.
