With below-normal temperatures observed and forecast in Jamestown, North Dakota, river ice downstream of Jamestown and Pipestem Reservoirs could form as soon as Nov. 11, 2019.

Lewis and Clark Visitor Center closed for tile installation but will be open through winter.
The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, near Yankton, SD, will be closed from Monday, November 4 through Thursday, November 7 for the installation of new tile in the restrooms. The center, which is located on Nebraska Highway 121 near the Gavins Point Dam, will reopen on Friday, November 8.

USACE and Reclamation warn to expect changing ice conditions this winter
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Omaha District and The Bureau of Reclamation are notifying the public of the expected hazardous and constantly unstable winter ice condition on Pipestem Reservoir and Jamestown Reservoir in the coming winter months.

Releases increasing from Pipestem and Jamestown Dams
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is increasing releases from Jamestown and Pipestem Dams to a total combined release of 2,400 cubic feet per second (cfs) by Saturday, October 26. Releases will be slowly increased to allow for monitoring of downstream channel conditions. The table below details the release schedule.
