Corps awards contract for initial breach repair for portion of Levee L-575
Omaha, Neb.—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, has awarded a $7.5 million contract for the initial breach repair along the Missouri River at Levee Unit L-575 near Percival, Iowa, to protect critical infrastructure.

Public comment period extended for draft tiered EA on the Hess Hawkeye Pipeline system maintenance project at Lake Sakakawea, North Dakota
The public comment period for the draft environmental assessment (EA) to perform maintenance activities on the existing Hawkeye Pipeline System within Federal lands (Lake Sakakawea) in McKenzie and Williams counties in North Dakota has been extended to May 12, 2019. This EA tiers from one completed in 2015 by the Bureau of Land Management which evaluated the environmental effects of repurposing the existing pipelines within Lake Sakakawea.

Second drawdown of Cunningham Reservoir planned due to high runoff, fish renovation planned for June
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will drawdown Glenn Cunningham Reservoir a second time as the high runoff event in March 2019 caused the reservoir to refill, delaying progress in the efforts to control the invasive zebra mussels and overabundant common carp.

Corps of Engineers makes progress on emergency operations repairs, continues process to secure levee breach repair funding and award contracts
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, completed emergency operations repairs at the water treatment plant in Pacific Junction/Glenwood, Iowa Tuesday, and continues to work toward securing funding and awarding contracts for levee repair work.

USACE monitoring storms, working with partners
According to the U.S. National Weather Service, a strong storm is expected to move across the Missouri River Basin during the next 48 hours and is expected to continue and/or add to moderate and major flooding in parts of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota and Iowa.

Jamestown, Pipestem reservoirs intakes increasing
Inflows to Jamestown Reservoir continue to increase due to snowmelt. As a result, reservoir releases are being increased to 200 cubic feet per second today and to 400 cfs on Thursday.
