    Corps releases final Big Bend Dam and Lake Sharpe Master Plan

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District has released the Big Bend Dam and Lake Sharpe Master Plan, which will serve as the primary guiding document for land management for the next 15 to 25 years.

    Nebraska Tailwaters boat ramp closed until Monday, Dec. 6 for maintenance

    The U.S. Corps Army of Engineers, Omaha District announced that the boat ramp at the Nebraska Tailwaters located at the Gavins Point Dam, Nebraska, will be closed through Dec. 6, due to continued maintenance activities.

    Crest Road at Gavins Point Dam closed Wednesday, Dec. 1 for maintenance

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announced that Crest Road at Gavins Point Dam, South Dakota will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. for maintenance. Visitors are asked to take alternate routes during the closure.

    Record of Decision signed for Fort Peck Dam Environmental Impact Statement

    Col. Geoff Van Epps, Commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division, signed a Record of Decision for the Fort Peck Dam test releases Environmental Impact Statement on Nov. 12.

    Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee to hold fall plenary session in Omaha, Nebraska

    The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) will hold a plenary session November 16-18 in Omaha, Nebraska. The meeting will be at the Embassy Suites Hotel beginning at 8 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, and concluding at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, November 18. The draft MRRIC meeting agenda can be found online at https://www.nwo.usace.army.mil/mrrp/mrric/. MRRIC has not met since November 2019 due to the COVID pandemic.

    USACE seeks public comment on Environmental Assessment for Sweet Grass County restoration, protection project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is seeking public comment on a draft environmental assessment for the Sweet Grass County flood damage restoration and surface water resource protection project in Montana. The proposed project includes replacing the Melville Road wood bridge with a new modular steel bridge, improving the Melville Road concrete bridge by removing an abandoned concrete abutment, and replacing the Big Timber Canyon Road bridge with a concrete box culvert.

    District awards phase two development contract for Zorinsky Lake maintenance corridor

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District Missouri River Project Office recently awarded a $270K contract for the creation of a maintenance corridor along the southern portion of the federal property line at Zorinsky Lake which will fall between 168th St. and 184th Ave. in Omaha.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District public scoping comment period on the Fort Peck Shoreline Management Plan is being extended through Friday, October 15, 2021.

    Courtesy docks below Gavins Point Dam removed for repairs

    On Sept. 28 and 29, the courtesy docks at the Nebraska Tailwater and the Training Dike boat ramps, both on the Missouri River below Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota, will be removed to make routine repairs. The ramps will remain open without the use of the courtesy docks except when the docks are being removed and reinstalled.

    Environmental Impact Statement completed for Fort Peck Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District has publicly made available the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for test releases from Fort Peck Dam, Montana. The purpose of the EIS is to assess the capacity of test flows from the Fort Peck Dam to promote the growth and survival of the pallid sturgeon, a fish species listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
