Corps of Engineers, Garrison Project announces winter access policy, entry points
RIVERDALE, N.D. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Garrison Project announces their 2020-2021 winter access policy. This year there will be 113 entry points to Lake Sakakawea and 20 entry points to Lake Audubon. These entry points are a combination of boat ramps, shoreline access sites and freeways which are in limited development areas. A couple of these points are foot traffic only due to terrain.

Public scoping period to begin for Gavins Point Dam, Lewis and Clark Lake master plan update; virtual public meeting scheduled
OMAHA, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District will be hosting a virtual public scoping meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will kick off the public scoping and comment period for the update and revision of the Gavins Point Dam, Lewis and Clark Lake master plan.

Corps to begin construction of a new flood risk management project along Middle Logan Creek in Randolph, Neb.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, in partnership with the city of Randolph and the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District, will begin construction of a flood risk management project along Middle Logan Creek in Randolph and is marking the occasion with a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, November 6th starting at 11:00 a.m.

Facility closures at Government Bay, Lake Sakakawea scheduled to reopen
RIVERDALE, N.D.— UPDATE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announced that the City of Riverdale is in the process of completing repairs today, and that access will be restored tomorrow, Oct. 7 to the Government Bay Recreation Area on Lake Sakakawea. The temporary closure of the access road and fish cleaning station at the Government Bay Recreation Area on Lake Sakakawea occurred due to of a water line break in Riverdale, North Dakota on Sept. 21.

Gavins Point Dam spillway gate to undergo maintenance, some impact on anglers during paddlefish season expected
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announced Friday that spillway gate maintenance will take place on Gavins Point Dam through Oct. 16, which may impact anglers in the area for paddlefish season.

Corps of Engineers awards contract to restore levee at Camp Ashland, Nebraska
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, awarded a $6.9 million construction contract to Western Contracting Corporation of Sioux City, Iowa, Monday to repair a section of flood wall and levee that was damaged during the 2019 flooding at Camp Ashland, Nebraska.
