    The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee held the first meeting of its 10th anniversary year here March 27-29. Tribes were represented by Pascha Enzi, Osage Nation; Tim Grant, Omaha Tribe of Nebraska; Randy Teboe, Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska; Elizabeth Wakeman, Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe; and Shannon Wright, Ponca Tribe.

  • Open house scheduled in Oacoma, South Dakota for erosion feasibility study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, will hold an open house on Tuesday, April 3 from 5 to 7p.m. at the Oacoma Community Center, 100 E. 3rd Street in Oacoma, SD to seek comments on potential opportunities to address erosion that is threatening the town of Lower Brule. There will be a brief, formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.

  • Draft EA for Pick City, North Dakota wastewater treatment facility improvements available for comment

    A draft environmental assessment for a proposal to improve the existing wastewater treatment facility for Pick City, North Dakota is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of expanding two existing treatment cells and constructing a third treatment cell in order to increase the overall storage and treatment capacity of the facility. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than April 17, 2018.

  • Final input sought on Deadmans Run flood risk study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (NRD) and the City of Lincoln, will hold an open house on Wednesday, March 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET) Center, 1800 N. 33rd Street in Lincoln. Comments from area residents, businesses and other interested parties are being sought on the draft feasibility report for the Deadmans Run flood risk management study. There will be a brief, formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.

    The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) will hold its 40th meeting March 27-29, 2018. The meeting will be at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Omaha Downtown, 1616 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68102, beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, and concluding at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29.
