The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is soliciting comments regarding the proposed Counselor Creek Bridge Replacement Project at Big Bend Dam Lake Sharpe.
USACE Omaha District has determined that the project would entail an alteration to the federal project, and therefore requires permission under Section 408.
The requestor proposes to replace an old structurally deficient bridge with a new safe bridge. The existing bridge is a 28.7m 3-span H-15 precast channel superstructure with timber substructure built in 1965 with a sufficiency rating of 48.1. The proposed new bridge is a single span steel girder bridge. Only project elements that would alter the Federal Project are within the review scope for the Section 408 permission request.
