Draft Programmatic EA for PL 84-99 levee repairs available for comment
A draft programmatic environmental assessment to evaluate the impacts of implementing structural repairs, under Public Law 84-99, to levees damaged during devastating flooding in March 2019 is currently available for review. Comments on the draft programmatic EA must be postmarked or received by March 4, 2020.

Clarification provided for owners of private levees seeking Corps assistance
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District Emergency Operations Center has received several inquiries from private levee owners. If these levees are not in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) PL84-99 program they are not eligible for USACE rehabilitation assistance. The owners of these levees should work with their County Emergency Management personnel and/or the State Emergency Management to determine if there is assistance available to them.

Draft EA for Missouri River and Upper Pony Creek levee repairs in Iowa available for public comment
A draft environmental assessment for levee repairs along the left–descending bank of the Missouri River and at one levee station along Upper Pony Creek in Mills and Pottawattamie counties, Iowa is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of repairing damage to the levees caused by multiple heavy rainfall events in the summer and fall of 2018. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than February 18, 2019.

Comments sought on draft programmatic EA for repairs to Council Bluffs levee system in Iowa
A draft programmatic environmental assessment (PEA) for repairs to the Missouri River left bank levee systems in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is currently available for public review. The PEA evaluates the impacts of repairing deficiencies located at various sites along the 28.5-mile Council Bluffs levee system that extends along the Missouri River and includes the Indian Creek and Mosquito Creek tributaries. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than April 5, 2017.

Draft EA for levee repairs near Langdon, MO available for public comment
A draft environmental assessment for repairs to Missouri River levee unit L-550 near Langdon in Atchison County, Missouri is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of repairing damage along a drainage ditch between L-550 and Rock Creek caused by high precipitation events. Repairs are needed to prevent seepage of levee foundation material from L-550 into the drainage ditch. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than October 27, 2016.

Draft EAs for repairs near Lincoln, NE levees available for public comment
Two draft environmental assessments for bank repairs to levees along Antelope Creek and Salt Creek near Lincoln in Lancaster County, Neb. are currently available for public review. The draft EAs evaluate the environmental impacts of repairing damage caused by high flows in October 2014 to one area along the Antelope Creek flood protection project and 17 areas along the Salt Creek flood protection project.

The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of repairing damages to four areas of the project caused by high flows along the Little Sioux River in May 2013.
